About Us

Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council is a national leader in adult education and family literacy. We provide classes and tutoring for about 3,000 adults and families in the Pittsburgh area each year. Our students become better parents, workers, and citizens as a result of these programs.

GPLC also provides training and assistance to dozens of other literacy programs. Through its Literacy*AmeriCorps program, GPLC assists literacy efforts in cities throughout the nation.

GPLC is a highly respected organization which has been recognized locally and nationally for the quality of its programs and for its management practices.
