Literacy*AmeriCorps

Literacy*AmeriCorps is a national service program that mobilizes volunteers to take action in their communities. Literacy*AmeriCorps volunteers, or “members,” directly serve adults, families, and children in several states by helping them reach their educational goals. Members tutor students, both adults and youth, recruit community volunteers, participate in service projects, and help strengthen local literacy organizations.

Literacy*AmeriCorps members improve their communities while receiving many benefits themselves, such as a modest living allowance, money for school, training and professional development, and a sense of accomplishment.
