Winter 2011-2012 Training Schedule for New Volunteers
Below is a list of volunteer tutor training workshops. To sign up for any of these trainings, please use our interactive volunteer interest form (pdf). Once the form is completed, either save and send it via email to kabdullah@gplc.org or mail it to: GPLC, 411 Seventh Avenue, Ste. 550, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. When you become a volunteer tutor, GPLC prefers that you make at least a 6-month commitment so that student progress is not interrupted. The Pennsylvania Department of Education requires that all volunteer tutors possess or is working toward earning a four-year college degree - effective July 1, 2011.
Registrations must be received in GPLC's main office at least one week prior to the training. Late registrations will be accepted if space is available.
Please Note: The workshop sessions must be completed in sequential order. It is preferable to complete all 12 hours in one location. If you cannot attend all the sessions at one particular location, you may, with the permission of the training coordinator, begin at one location and finish at a later one, as long as you attend the sessions in sequential order.
