Summer 2008 Training Schedule for New Volunteers
Below is a list of volunteer tutor training workshops. To sign up for any of these trainings, please use our interactive volunteer interest form (pdf). Once it is completed, just print it out and mail it to: GPLC, 100 Sheridan Sq., 4th Fl., Pittsburgh, PA 15206.

When you become a volunteer tutor, GPLC prefers that you make at least a 6-month commitment so that student progress is not interrupted.
Registrations must be received in GPLC's main office at least one week prior to the training. Late registrations will be accepted if space is available.
Please Note: The workshop sessions must be completed in sequential order. It is preferable to complete all 12 hours in one location. If you cannot attend all the sessions at one particular location, you may, with the permission of the training coordinator, begin at one location and finish at a later one, as long as you attend the sessions in sequential order.

Preparation for tutoring a native-born adult in reading and writing.

Math Workshop*
Preparation for tutoring an adult in mathematics.
Math workshops are held twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.
The fall Math workshop will be held in the East End of Pittsburgh.
