Become a Site

If interested in becoming a service site, please contact Julie Walker, program manager, at, or 412-393-7622.

Compass AmeriCorps members are placed at local nonprofit organizations. Members provide additional programmatic support by offering more classes, increasing access to tutoring, or by extending the reach of an existing program. The member position must work toward the performance measures outlined in the service site RFP.

Service sites provide training, daily supervision, and at least 35 hours of meaningful service per week for the member. Sites are also required to provide a match fee per Compass AmeriCorps member.

Compass AmeriCorps service sites are chosen through an application process each spring. The program manager is available to meet with prospective service sites to answer questions about the process and experience of hosting an AmeriCorps member.

Compass sites are currently:

  • Allegheny Intermediate Unit - Latino Family Center
  • Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council
  • Jewish Family and Children's Service
  • Jewish Family and Children's Service Legal Services
