Literacy*AmeriCorps Make a Donation

Since 1982, GPLC has helped more than 75,000 people to create better lives for themselves through adult education and family literacy programs.

You make their successes possible. The generosity of hundreds of individuals, corporations and foundations give local men and women a chance at a better life.

A donation to Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council is a sound investment. A full 89 cents of each donated dollar goes directly to help our students. This high efficiency compares favorably with other charities.

Is GPLC a well-run organization? One answer is that GPLC is a winner of the Wishart Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management, an award that is given by the Forbes Funds, a supporting organization of The Pittsburgh Foundation.

By donating at least $1000, you can become a part of the Mary Yardumian Society. This society provides recognition for community leaders who have demonstrated their commitment to improving literacy through their investments.

Many people choose to honor loved ones through donations to GPLC. Your gift can commemorate an event such as a birthday, anniversary, holiday, graduation, or other occasion or achievement.

Federal employees have a special channel they can use to donate to nonprofit organizations. The Combined Federal Campaign facilitates donations through workplace giving campaigns. This type of campaign allows employees to donate to an organization directly from their paycheck, making the donation process a highly efficient form of fundraising.
