Since 1982, Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council has helped local adults and families gain the educational skills they need to succeed as workers, parents and neighbors. The Literacy Council is seeking a part-time Development Assistant (15 hours/week) to advance its private giving goals.

►  Manage gift entry and acknowledgments.

►  Maintain donor database and prepare related reports.

►  Conduct prospect research and prepare reports

►  Coordinate agency social media presence and donor e-blasts.

►  Provide clerical support for development department.


Education:  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:  Two years of work experience in an office environment.
Desired Skills:
  • Excellent technology skills, including knowledge of database management, Word and        Excel.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Committed to accuracy with a conscientious attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Committed to mission of GPLC.
