DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council is seeking a full-time Development Coordinator. This individual will work closely with the Director of Development to implement a comprehensive plan to achieve private giving goals through individual donations, foundation grants, corporate partnerships and special events.

DUTIES: 

  • Manage grants calendar, prepare foundation grant proposals and follow-up reports.
  • Implement individual gifts plan for annual fund donors.
  • Conduct analysis of donor/prospect base and recommend development strategies.
  • Provide staff support for special events.
  • Spearhead donor stewardship efforts.
  • Some evening and weekends will be required as well as occasional travel within Allegheny County.

QUALIFICATIONS
 
Education:
  Bachelor’s degree.

Experience:  Three years development experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Proven ability to apply a broad knowledge of fundraising practices and strategies to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with Director of Development, volunteers and other staff.
  • Ability to see the big picture as well as plan and execute the steps needed to accomplish a goal.
  •  Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  •  Committed to accuracy with a conscientious attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness when faced with multiple deadlines and fast-paced situations.
  • Excellent computer/technology skills, including knowledge of donor databases (Fundraising 50 a plus.)
