Since 1982, GPLC has helped more than 30,000 people to create better lives for themselves through adult education and family literacy programs.  

Their accomplishments are possible because of the generosity of hundreds of individuals, corporations and foundations.  

A donation to Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council is a sound investment.  A full 88 cents of each donated dollar goes directly to help our students.  This high efficiency compares favorably with other charities.

Is GPLC a well-run organization?  One answer is that GPLC is a winner of the Wishart Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management, an award that is given by the Forbes Funds, a supporting organization of The Pittsburgh Foundation.
